These Christmas Baubles are sure to add some sparkle to your day! Simply choose the paper or material you will feature as the inside piece, cover the outer cardboard ring with glitter and after a little bit of gluing you’ll have a new and eye catching decoration for the tree! We’ve suggested some ideas of what you could use on the inside of the bauble, but there are so many more options. Children could even use the cardboard rings as a frame around their own artwork, or a photo or drawing of themselves for an even more personalised gift.
Here’s how to make it:
- Choose which paper you will use to decorate the inside and cut a circle shape from it slightly smaller than the outer circle of the Cardboard Ring. You can do this by tracing around the outer edge onto you paper.
- Then cut about 5mm inside the circle. Put aside for later steps.
- Take two of the Cardboard Rings. Paint PVA Glue onto one side of each ring.
- Fill a paper plate with glitter. Turn each ring glue side down and place into the glitter ensuring to cover the full surface. Set aside to dry. (Another option is to sprinkle the glitter on).
- Add glue to the non glitter side of both of your Cardboard rings.
- Place the inside circle onto one of the Cardboard rings and top with the second cardboard ring, press and hold together.
- Punch a hole in the top with the hole punch and thread a tinsel stem or some string for hanging.
Don’t forget to also use the circles of cardboard that pop out of the centre of the cardboard rings. They will make beautiful decorations as well.
